How did we get so lucky to have a place like Boulangerie in Kennebunk? It’s one of our favorite year-round spots for coffee and sweet treats – and the ONLY spot for a massive variety of fresh baked breads and rolls. Their chocolate chip cookie might be the best we’ve ever had… they make an ‘Everything Croissant’ stuffed with cream cheese… We could go on and on!

Tucked in right behind the ice skating rink, you can’t miss the inviting entrance to their big red barn. They always have the most amazing garden out front in the summer with coveted outdoor tables. This winter, they used big birch branches and winterberry for simple and festive decorations.
Owners Amy & Zachary Tyson spent a decade planning and testing recipes, and it shows. Everything they make looks and tastes amazing – from the sourdough bread (made with their own starter), to chocolatey cupcakes, to homemade soups and salads. Whenever possible they use ingredients sourced locally.
The interior of the bakery is finished using reclaimed wood, stained glass and vintage furniture. The super cozy environment perfectly matches the warmth of the ovens and the smell of fresh baked goods and espresso.
Boulangerie opens at 7am Tuesday-Saturday and at 8am Sunday. We definitely recommend going on the early side, especially in the summer as they tend to sell out of their more popular items. Either way there’s always something yummy to eat and a great local business to support. Make sure to follow them at @aproperbakery on Instagram where they post their tempting daily specials!
