Rowan Head - written in 1949 by Elisabeth Ogilvie The story of Miriam Chase and the tempestuous human relationships she was swept into at Rowan Head in Maine. Elisabeth Ogilvie has used the beautiful Maine Coast she loves so well to tell this moving story. Jacket and Endpapers are by Paul Laune. Elisabeth Ogilvie was born in Boston and spent her summers on the coast of Maine. In 1944 she began a series of novels set in on Bennett's Island of the coast of Maine. Her books show her love for the exquisite beauty of the rocky Maine cost and the salty lives of the rugged lobstermen. She lived on a 33-acre farm on Gay's Island Maine for more than 50 years until her passing in 2006.
