Recycled Lobster Rope Doormat - Small
Great for the boat, or the front door, these mats stand up to all kinds of weather, are easy to clean, quick drying, and they even float! Resistant to mold, mildew, salt water, and sun. Used as kitchen or bathmats, they add a really fun look indoors too.
Lobstermen use float-ropes to tether traps together on the ocean floor. Sadly, whales and other sea life can become entangled, which sometimes leads to injury or death. This danger has lead Maine lobstermen to replace the float-rope with a new silk rope. Without a proper way to recycle the ropes, they would have ended up in landfills.
